Day 60: Leap Day

Math stresses me out.  Happy Leap Day, it only comes every four years.

Day 59: Grumpy Pants

Sometimes Brayden doesn't like it when I take pictures of him.

Day 58: Fuzzy

What are these extremely pink and fuzzy things, you may ask.  Well these are my slippers.  My wonderful, wonderful slippers that keep my toes cold on cold (and sometimes warm) days down here in the basement.

Day 56: Sweet Dreams

I got a picture of a sleeping Nathan tonight.  He looks so peaceful when he's asleep.  Notice the BYU hat; he literally wears it day and night.

Day 55: Variety

This is the dinner we had on our date tonight.  We went to Smith's and each couple had seven dollars to spend on food.  Give six teenagers twenty one dollars, and our dinner consisted of Captain Crunch, Mac and Cheese, Ice cream (strawberry and death by chocolate), pizza, nilla wafers, marshmellow popcorn, fudge cookies, and mango.  It really was very satisfying.

Day 54: Room Service

Nick was so kind as to bring me "dinner" (chicken, chocolate chips, and a chocolate heart) complete with a goblet of ice water to my room tonight.  He is so thoughtful.

Day 53: Flowers

These are the lovely flowers my mom gave me yesterday after the performance.  They smell as good as they are beautiful.

Day 52: This is Not The End

It's true.  The play is over. Done. Ended.  And the stage is striked. (Hence the picture.) I think I gave everything I had tonight and left it on the stage.  Although we did have some technical difficulties (Mustaches falling off...) we had a great performance. What I didn't know is that we're going to do the first act for region and state, so I'm not done being Lydia!! My grandparents, and my dad's Aunt Bettie and Uncle Clay came to watch it tonight.  It was nice having my own family in the audience.  This play has really made me think about how much our ancestors suffered and went through to get the things that we take for granted; freedom, our religion, and family close to us to name a few.  It's been an adventure, and now I'm ready to SLEEP.

Day 50: Waiting

Everyone seems to be waiting for something.  Some people wait for money, some for fame, and some for happiness.  Some are waiting for that special someone to sweep them off their feet to live happily ever after.  Some individuals are waiting for better circumstances, some for their dreams to come true. Others are waiting for success, others for failure.  Some people are waiting for death, while some are waiting for life.  Waiting is a funny thing because although you wait, it might never come.  But waiting gives you hope, it gives you something to hope for.  There comes a point though, when you have to stop waiting and actually start doing.

Day 49: The Auditorium

This, my friends is a wonderful place.  It's the place where we share stories.  It's the place where we bring characters to life.  It is the place where I've learned so much.  It is the auditorium.  We had another great show tonight.  Only two more performances and then it's over.  What a sad thought.  (If you look at the top of the picture you can see the beautiful stage that Randy Blackburn created.)

Day 48: Stealing Horses

Okay, I know I didn't post yesterday...it was a really busy day.  But I did take a picture and it was on my phone.  After the play last night, the whole cast went to Chile's and Austin drew me this lovely pic on a napkin.  It says "Stealing Horses...A Love Story."  If you come see Handing Down the Names, you'll know the reference.

Day 47: Dream

Tonight was Opening Night.  Before the show started Ms. Nelsen gave each of us a necklace with different sayings on it.  Mine said "dream."  I think this really describes my character (Lydia) because she is a dreamer.  So many sad, hard things happen to her and yet she still fights for her dreams.  The fact that Lydia was once a real person really hit home to me tonight, and I hope I've been able to give her justice.  Because she really was an incredible person.

Day 45: Valentine's Day

No Valentine for me this year, but before Dress Rehearsal we had our own kind of love.  We did a speed through sitting on the ground writing themes that we discovered as we were saying it.  It was amazing.  I feel so much closer to my cast family and I think we're finally, almost ready for our first real performance tomorrow. Happy Valentine's Day!!

Day 44: Family Tree

We had our dress rehearsal tonight...I was at the high school until 10:30. I didn't have time to be creative.  This is a picture of our "family tree" that we made to advertise the play. It's just a tree, with our names and the last names of our grandparents on it. Yay!

Day 43: Women in White

My Aunt Meg who is getting married in 4 months (!!!!) tried on my mom's wedding dress today.  Sammi decided to put her baptism dress on too and we had a little photo shoot.

Day 42: Sweethearts

Well it's been a really busy and really fun day!! I slept in, did my homework, played at my piano festival, and went to sweethearts with the one and only Chris Coca.  It was a great way to end the day!

Day 41: Technology

I got home from play practice an hour ago, did some hw and now I'm finally getting to my picture. I took a pic of my computer because I think sometimes we take technology for granted and how EASY it is to have instant access to so many things.

Day 40: The Hair

Posting before school? Is that even possible?  Well this is how I do my hair for "Handing Down the Names.  I did it for school today and I thought it might as well be my picture of the day since I'm going to be at the high school until ten or later tonight.

Day 39: Book Worm

This is one of my favorite books.  I'm re-reading it for English and I LOVE it.

Day 38: One Little Light

This is a picture of a light.  It's the only bulb out of six in my room that is still burning brightly.  All the other ones are burned out.  It might be time to find five minutes in my busy life and change them before this last little survivor dies too.

Day 36: Music To My Ears

It's been a really good Sunday. I spent the afternoon at my Grandma Ellen's house playing the piano.  After about three hours of practicing, I got down on my hands and knees to take pictures of this baritone that belonged to my Grandpa.

Day 35: Pals

Two of my favorite boys in the world: Jacob and Nathan.  Oh and don't forget Jacob the baby doll. Can you guess who Nathan named him after?

Day 33: Driving Home

Took this on the way home from school today. (Don't worry, Mike was driving.)

Day 32: New Glasses!!!

Well I got my new pair of glasses today!! I'm really excited because I've had the same pair of glasses for the last few years.  My eyes have changed a lot and I still have an old prescription in them. So when I chose not to wear my contacts everything WAS fuzzy...but not anymore!

Well I'm starting on my second month of taking a picture a day and I LOVE it, even though I'm really busy with other things and my creativity may be lacking a bit.  But I promise when I'm less busy (perhaps in the summer) I'll be able to think outside the box more.
